The other was a greatneck hatchet You cannot see it in this pic but the great neck hatchet has the scandi grind but by the time you get to the back of the grind the blade is swelled to 1/4 inch plus thick Which means the blade does not sink in deep However, if you had bucnh of 2x4 ends to split that thick part of the blade ends in splitting.
Hope this isn't heresy, but i plan on restoring an old plumb half hatchet for use as a camp ax
